Detectives want to trace a van seen pulling into a layby in Haddenham at around the time a lorry driver suffered serious injuries yesterday (Tuesday).

Witnesses described seeing a white Transit-style van indicating to pull into the layby in Sutton Road between 7.15am and 7.30am.

A 45-year-old man needed hospital treatment after suffering from slash wounds in an incident in the layby at around the same time.

He has since been discharged from hospital.

Detective Sergeant Phill Richardson, investigating, said: “Witnesses have described seeing three people inside the van and I am very keen to speak to them. I would like to stress they are not being treated as suspects, but may have been key witnesses to what happened.

“We are keeping an open mind around this incident which is being treated as isolated.”

Anyone with any information should call DS Richardson on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
