POLICE have launched an appeal for information this week when a March man was left shaken after a van, in which he was sitting, was attacked in Wimblington.

The incident happened on Friday, December 8 at about 6.30pm as the man, who has not been named, drove his white Renault van on the A141 between March and Chatteris.

A man driving another white drew up alongside him and began making rude gestures before pulling in behind and continuing to be abusive.

As the two approached the Mill Hill roundabout the white van overtook the Renault, causing both drivers to come to a halt. The man from the white van then got out and began kicking and punching the Renault, demanding the driver get out.

The Renualt driver eventually managed to drive away, but his van was left with a damaged wing mirror and several dents.

Pc Charles Hansford, who is investigating, said: "This was an upsetting and frightening incident for the victim who was left shaken.

"I would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or thinks they may know the other driver concerned."

Anyone with information should contact Pc Hansford at March Police Station on 0845 456 456 4 or CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
