A potentially stolen van ended up in the Sixteen Foot Bank in March earlier this morning.

The van was found in the river in Upwell Road – without a driver.

A police spokesman said:” The van was found in a ditch without a bonnet or engine.

“We suspect that it is a potentially stolen vehicle that has been dumped.”

The road was closed for around two hours and diversions were put in place while the vehicle was recovered.
