Vandals damage van parked in Chatteris and move it 25 yards along the road

VANDALS cut the lock out of the door of a van before causing damage to the ignition and steering column.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses following the vandalism, which occurred in Hunters Close, Chatteris, between 9pm on Sunday September 12 and 6.20am the following day.

Wires were also cut and fuses were removed.

A police spokesman said: “Offenders appear to have opened the bonnet and boot, but left tools and other items. The van was then moved 25 yards along the road.

“Anyone with any information should call Det Con Sue Swales on 0345 456 4564 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.”
