Police were unable to help a seriously injured person - because vandals let down the tyres on a marked car while officers patrolled a village on foot.
Officers from the March and Chatteris policing team in Cambridgeshire had parked the vehicle in Church Lane, Doddington while they carried out foot patrols of the village.
When they returned, they discovered the tyres had been let down - meaning they could not respond to a call for help.
Officers posted on the Policing March and Chatteris Facebook page: 'Although this may seem funny to some unfortunately we were unable to respond to help a seriously injured person as a result. This makes the situation much more serious.
'Clearly we cannot allow this person to put lives at risk again.'
The incident took place between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.
