A large industrial unit in Witchford caught fire on Tuesday morning.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said a “paint spraying unit” measuring some 40sqm had caught fire on the Lancaster Way Business Park shortly before 7am.
The blaze also involved a pile of wood and eight vehicles.
Two fire engines from Ely, two from Cambridge and backup crews from Littleport and Chatteris were called to the scene along with a water carrier from Newmarket.
A spokesman said that crews had “sectorised the incident” and were tackling the flames with hose reels and jets.
The cause of the fire at this stage remains unknown.
