A SHORT video of a boat trip through March has been hailed as a great boost for tourism.

The 2min 44sec video – with an accompanying and appropriate sound track- has been made by Darren Hankins for community website Shape Your Place.

“I took a boat trip on the River Nene in September,” he says. “The small film is of my trip, edited to fit the music.”

The film shows the boat arriving at the town bridge and then ending at Wigstone’s footbridge.

“I must add that I have had to cut out Nene Parade as it would be a 30 minute film,” said Darren.

“I will record another video in the spring and try and get on the front of the boat as this film is somewhat spoilt by too much of the boat in shot.”

Readers have been quick to praise his efforts one describing it as “a great film which would be used as tourism promotion for March. I also thought the town has a lovely stretch of the river.”

Another fan is Joan Munns who said: “It is a fantastic video. I love it and can’t wait for another version in the spring.”
