Crafts and preserves were sold during the day whilst villagers waltzed the night away to the sound of the 40’s Homefront.

The event was organised by the Doddington Carnival and Sports Committee, who encouraged people to stay still while they filmed a 1940’s-themed #MannequinChallenge

“People were trickling in and out all day,” said one of the organisers Tony Price.

“The dance was also very good - there were enough people for it. If the whole hall was packed there wouldn’t have been enough room to dance.

“We were very pleased with how it all went and we will definitely do another one next year.”

A spokesman for the committee said: “Everyone we spoke to about the dance said that they had a fabulous evening, and thoroughly enjoyed it.”
