Drivers who deposit mud and debris on the roads could face police action.
The warning was issued by Lincolnshire Road Safety Partnership and Lincolnshire police, who say they will take action against farming companies or individual operators to prevent hazardous incidents.
Andrew Wilson, of the National Farmers Union, said: “The NFU recommends that drivers/operators of farm machinery take necessary precautions when entering a public highway and those roads are brushed to prevent causing a hazard for other motorists.
“All road users need to be mindful around the hazard that this presents and should drive according to the conditions.”
The NFU has issued a best code of practice to all of their farmer members within the county.
