Cambs Fire have been running their version of the Great British Bake Off ... and watch commander Danny, with a little help from his daughter, is this week’s star baker.
He said: “It took me four attempts to get it looking like something you might want to eat and I gave up icing and decorating it how I wanted.
“It seemed to go down well at tea break though so couldn’t have been that bad! It tied in well with my daughter’s homework project for the summer holidays so ticked that box too and it was fun baking together.
“After three failed attempts I learned it’s all about the preparation and mixing, something I’ll bear in mind for next time!”
This week’s kitchen fire safety top tip from Cambs Fire is use a timer so you don’t forget you’ve got something in the oven or on the hob.
