A Whittlesey school will re-open tomorrow after Anglian Water fixed the mains supply.

Sir Harry Smith Community College has been forced to give its 1,000 students an unscheduled two day break for health and safety reasons.

However a school spokesman said today: “Anglian Water is going to increase mains supply so we can have running water and properly working toilets.”

The school had to close because of health and safety fears following a disruption to the school’s water supply.

A college spokesman said: “We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”

On the Anglian Water website it says the issue is repairs to the main supply.

An open day at the college has also been re-scheduled; it should have taken place tonight (Tue) but will now be held on October 12 from 6pm.
