TEMPERATURES could drop as low as -10C overnight and further snow is expected this weekend.

The cold spell has been particularly severe in Norfolk, with snow closing more than 250 schools and causing heavy traffic disruptions.

Scattered light snow showers are possible, mainly in coastal areas, later today and temperatures will not rise above freezing.

Tonight will be very cold with a severe frost returning and patchy freezing fog becoming a little more widespread. It will be mainly dry, but the odd snow shower is still possible near the coast.

A bitter wind will develop by Friday with some snow spreading northeast and further snow is forecast on Saturday and Sunday.
