A Manea woman has achieved record-setting marks in an IT online exam.

Linda Randall achieved a 100 per cent pass in the City and Guilds entry level three qualification in online basics.

Along with fourteen other, Linda developed her digital skills at Manea’s Jobs and Internet Club, which runs every Wednesday morning in the village church rooms.

Nyree Scott, a project manager at Cambridgeshire County Council, said: “Her exceptional exam performance is a testament to all her hard work and commitment.

“We’ve tried to make the clubs a relaxed learning environment where people develop at their own pace.”

Linda said: “I was delighted when I got my exam results. I can now do all sorts of things over the internet that I never thought I would be able to do. “The club has really improved my confidence and given me the motivation to learn more.”

So far, 40 learners in Cambridgeshire have sat and passed the exam which helps them get to grips with email, staying safe online and using laptops and tablets.

The club was originally set up by Cambridgeshire County Council as part of an adult learning and skills project.

The initiative is supported by Manea Parish Council and a set of volunteer IT tutors guide learners through their courses.
