The Robert Foot Leukaemia Fund presents the first Walpole Weekend of Song in Walpole St Peter’s Church on April 18 and 19.
On Saturday evening beginning at 7.30 it’s ‘Fascinating Rhythm’. The singers, Opera For A While, from Boston, will be presenting the songs of George Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter.
Then on Sunday afternoon beginning at 3pm there is ‘An Afternoon of English Song’ featuring the celebrated tenor Andrew Kennedy. Andrew enjoys an international reputation having sung in concert halls and opera houses throughout the world. His many appearances at the BBC Proms included the Last Night in 2007.
This will be a rare opportunity to hear fine music performed in one of England’s finest parish churches.
