Three arrests following attempted ram raid in Cambs
The A1101 through Welney re-opened today after the flood waters that have closed it for three weeks disappeared.
Cambs Travel News – who monitor road closures across county from official sources- Tweeted this afternoon: CLEARED: #A1101 #Welney Causeway is now OPEN following the recent flooding.”
It will bring to end – for now – the daily misery of drivers having to make detours of up to 30 miles.
The A1101 further towards Mildenhall remains closed whilst a £1m repair programme nears completion.
In recent weeks drivers – including a woman motorist and her dog – have had to be rescued by emergency workers after attempting to cross the Welney Wash Road.
