AFRICAN drumming and singing rang out from Westwood Junior School in March as pupils got into the spirit of the World Cup.
After staging their own opening ceremony at the start of the competition, children performed a colourful assembly to celebrate African culture.
Parents also came along to witness a spectacular dance display as their young guns fully embraced the World Cup theme.
Pupils also took part in their own knock-out soccer tournament to really bring football fever to the school.
Deputy head teacher Simon Linney said the events, which were also tied in with school open days, created “an opportunity for all the children to celebrate”.
