Westwood School pupils the first to receive commemorative Diamond Jubilee medals from new Mayor of March

The Mayor of March, Cllr Jan French and town Cllr Rob Skoulding presented Diamond Jubilee comemorative medals to the pupils at Westwood Junior school.

COMMEMORATIVE Diamond Jubilee medals were presented to pupils at a March school when the town’s new Mayor made a surprise visit.

Councillor Jan French was accompanied by Fenland district and March town councillor Rob Skoulding to Westwood Junior School yesterday to present medals to the school’s 335 pupils.

Cllr French said: “The pupils were over the moon. They didn’t realise the were going to receive the medals.”

Cllr French will also visit the town’s four other primary schools - Burrowmoor, Cavalry, All Saints and Maple Grove Junior - to present medals.

The gilt-coloured medals are funded by March Town Council.
