What do you get when you cross Cambridge Black Watch with Mary Poppins and a chimney safety message? A viral video that’s already travelled across the pond and has racked up over 1,000 views on YouTube.
The fun clip, which has been sweeping people off their feet this week, sees fire-fighters recreate the famous rooftop scene in Mary Poppins to the sound of ‘Step In Time’.
It was created to improve awareness about fire safety and to remind people to check their chimneys are regularly cleaned, but in a light-hearted and memorable way.
The video was conceived, coordinated, shot and edited by the team and has already made an impact in the US.
Chattanooga Fire Department commented on the video saying: “Bravo! Well done! I’ve shared this with our folk here in Chattanooga, TN, USA.”
Meanwhile, one Facebook user commended Black Watch’s efforts and said: “Brilliant guys, job well done. Shows an important message but also fun to watch and remember the safety message that the CFRS are highlighting.”
