A white stone angel has been stolen from a grave in Outwell prompting an appeal from police for information.

The statue which stands at about 3.5ft tall was taken from the grave in Outwell Cemetery sometime between 10am on Monday August 3 and 5pm on Wednesday August 26.

PC Debbie Mayes said: “This is a despicable crime and I would urge anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously in the area to contact us.

“The statue is very heavy and would have probably have needed at least two people to move it.

“There is a possibility they would have also used a car to take the statue away.”
