A couple wants to build a boarding kennels for up to 40 dogs at their farm.
Partridge Farm, of New Road, Whittlesey, is an equestrian centre with stables for 20 horses and also holds dog agility classes.
The facilities would include a grooming and washing area, kitchen for the preparation of meals for the dogs and staff, office and cleaning stores.
The development would provide an extra nine car parking spaces near the entrance to the kennels.
In the application to Fenland District Council Tom Thorpe, who owns the farm with his wife, said: “A need for a boarding kennels in the area has been established.
“To diversify the current uses on the Partridge Farm site will aid its sustainability and provide a further potential source of employment for Whittlesey residents.
“The design is informed by what is considered to be best practice for a boarding kennels.”
