A community champion has received three awards in three weeks for her work in Whittlesey.
Lion Lynn Palmer was awarded the International Presidents Appreciation Award, the Whittlesey Citizen of the Year Award and the Whittlesey Lion’s Presidents Appreciation Award.
Her first award was presented at the Lions Convention in Norwich on March 17 by past international director Lion Clifford Heywood from New Zealand.
Lynn said: “I am honoured and shocked to receive these awards. It would have only been possible for me to have achieved this with the encouragement and help from my husband Steve and various members behind me.”
Then Lynn went on to receive the Whittlesey Citizen of the Year Award from Whittlesey Mayor, Councillor Ralph Butcher, before her husband Steve Palmer, who is also Whittlesey Lion President, presented her with the Appreciation Award for all the hard work she has done for the community and Whittlesey Lions Club.
Lynn joined the Lions in 1994/5 and has held most positions within the club and been president on three occasions.
Steve said: “There is nothing more Lynn loves than helping people.
“Lynn is always going that extra mile for Lions and the community in general.”
