A mystery couple from Whittlesey who won £1m on the national lottery will be revealed at a press conference on Wednesday morning.

The lucky pair won the cash on the Euro Millions HotPicks on August 28 and their win will become public at a champagne reception at the Marriott Hotel, Peterborough, hosted by Camelot.

“Come and join the lucky pair as they raise a glass to celebrate their life-changing lottery win and discuss their exciting future plans,” was the invitation tonight to journalists.

The couple become the second recipients of lotto luck at Whittlesey in recent years after Derek Daniels and his daughter, Lorraine won £730,000 two years ago.

Other lucky winners from this area include Lisa and Gerry Canning of Peterborough who was £32.5 million.

But the really big winners from this area remain Dave and Angela Dawes of Wisbech who scooped £101m on Euro Millions in 2011.

Earlier this year they were reported to have splashed out £4m on the former mansion of Welsh crooner Tom Jones.
