A WHITTLESEY man appeared in court today accused of fraud and of pretending to be a solicitor and a barrister.

Marious Pimm, 42, of Crescent Road faced eight counts of fraud by false representation when he stood in the dock at Peterborough magistrates’ court.

His victims, who are thought to be elderly, include a mother alleged to have handled £4,000 from a mother who had been told her son’s home was to be repossessed.

On another occasion he is alleged to have pretended to be a solicitor to facilitate a divorce for which he was paid over £1,000.

Most of the offences are alleged to have taken place in Whittlesey during a three year period from 2007.

Pimm is due back in court next Wednesday.
