A COACH load of WI members and friends left the village last Tuesday morning heading for London. On arriving at
Kensington several went to the roof garden. Originally above Derry and Toms department store, which opened in 1933, the garden took two years to build at a cost of £25,000 and opened to the public in May 1938. In the afternoon they visited Clarence House.
Afterwards several members walked down The Mall to Buckingham Palace and St James Park. They made a break at Baldock on both journeys. The outing had been arranged by the president Valerie Ware.
