A WIDOWER, whose wife, sister and sister-in-law died within three years, hanged himself in his home, an inquest heard.The family of 83-year-old Alfred Wade, of Coronation Avenue, Whittlesey, said he had not seemed depressed, and was feeling better after visiting his GP days before his body was found in his living room.Mr Wade, known to friends and family as Alf, had no history of depression, but had high blood pressure and told his doctor he was feeling 'shaky and edgy'.He had also told his family his tinnitus had been getting worse and he was having trouble sleeping.The inquest heard how Mr Wade's wife of 57 years, Audrey, died three years ago, suffering from Alzheimer's disease. Then, in October 2004, he lost his sister and in June last year, his sister-in-law died.His son, Stephen Wade, said at the inquest his father was a keen gardener and his motto in life had been 'whatever life throws at you, you just carry on'. Mr Wade and his wife June found Mr Wade's body on Saturday, October 22, last year, after repeated attempts to contact him. Police were then called to the house.Coroner William Morris, said: "This concludes a very sad matter. It is clear what happened was deliberate, and it seems strong and standard proof, despite there being no suicide note left there at all."It is not clear the exact day he died, only that it happened between Thursday and Saturday of that week."Verdict: suicide.
