THE Wimblington Gala provided a weekend of music, dancing, good food, games and fun for all the family.

Gala Day, on Sunday, began at 1pm with the traditional parade which left from Knowles' car park, down Addison Road into Church Street and then onto Chapel Lane and into the Parkfield.

The parade featured the March Majorettes, Soham Majorettes, Vivien the fire engine, a vintage police car, the gala King and Queen and seven organisations representing different countries of the world.

On the Parkfield were displays by both sets of majorettes, Vivien, alpacas and ferret racing. There were stalls all around the arena plus bouncy castles, an archery display and much more.

The Summer Show was held in a marquee alongside the gala and certificates and cups were presented at the end of the day by Councillor Jill Tuck.

Funds raised by the Gala Committee will be used to buy a fish and chip supper for village seniors and arrange a day out for village children.
