Maureen Davis, show committee chairman, said: “It is really pleasing to see many new people taking part and winning trophies. The Summer Show Committee are indebted to local businesses who support the show by providing raffle prizes.

“In particular to Chapel Cottage Plants who every year provide a huge number of free plants which are sold to raise funds which go towards keeping the show going from year to year. This year we are also grateful to The Burnthouse Windmill Farm Fund who have helped with the cost of putting on the event.”

This year’s class winners were: 7 and unders: Noah Cowin; 8 – 14 years: Jacob Cowin; cookery and preserves: Naomi Clark; vegetable and fruit: John Bird; flower and floral art: Shirley Morrisey; art section: Mark Field.

Handicrafts: Doreen Davis; quilting: Lesley Donovan; egg class: Karen Harvey; honey section: Melanie Sage; homebrew section: Naomi Clark; best allotment: Stuart Limpus; best allotment runner-up: Andy Bayes; overall winner (with most points scored): John Bird.
