Sam Laws from Doggy Styling in March High Street came first in the annual Room to Groom competition with her makeover of miniature poodle Pickles.

She took the black poodle from having a long coat to a smart new short trim.

Judge Charlotte Harrison said: “Sam’s groom was the biggest transformation of all the entries and the dog is finished beautifully.”

Sam said: “I was so shocked to come first. I entered as the entry fees were being donated to the charity Canine Partners and I never expected to get placed let alone win.”
