A man who says he has turned his life around is spreading a message of positivity by donating Easter eggs to a children’s ward.

Martyn Wadsley took eggs to sick children at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King’s Lynn.

“I have lost 50lb through Slimming World at Upwell so they are no good to me,” said Mr Wadsley who has dropped from 25 stone to 21 stone in six months.

“It is all part of a new life mission I seem to be on. After divorcing I decided to make big changes including stopping drinking for 12 weeks from October. I am turning my life around 180 degrees.

“This time last year I suffered with a heavy bout of depression which is a wicked illness, Winston Churchill called it the black dog.

“But this year I am making big changes and doing positive stuff which includes donating the eggs to the children’s ward.”

Mr Wadsley, 57, of Wisbech, who works as a sales manager with RJ Landrovers in Sawtry, went to the hospital with his granddaughter four year old Olivia Welbourne to deliver the chocolate goodies which were won in prize draws at the Hare and Hounds and Wetherspoon in Wisbech.

Since changing his lifestyle he has also become involved in fund raising for Chloe’s Dream, a charity for local girl Chloe Chaplin, to send her to Disneyland in America once her treatment for leukaemia is complete.
