The parent of a child has been fined for failing to ensure her son attends school.
The mother – who did not appear in court – was convicted in her absence and fined £200 with £150 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
Peterborough magistrates heard that the child – who cannot be named for legal reasons – recorded an attendance rate of just 62 per cent at the school in Wisbech.
