A Wisbech police officer remains at work but on “restricted duties” following her conviction for harassment.

PC Catherine (Cat) Francis remains at work pending a disciplinary hearing by Cambridgeshire Police.

She was convicted at Norwich magistrates’ court in November and sentenced to a 12 month community order.

Francis, 29, a former PCSO, was also ordered to carry out 100 hours unpaid work, pay £400 court costs and a £60 victim surcharge.

A police spokesman said: “She appealed the conviction, but a judge at Norwich Crown Court rejected the appeal on February 28. She was ordered to pay a further £520 court costs.”

The spokesman confirmed “restricted duties” meant back office work and pending the outcome of her disciplinary appeal PC Francis is not allowed direct contact with the public.
