A shopping centre is holding a car boot sale to raise funds for charity.

Following the success of its Easter car boot, which raised more than £260 for armed forces charity Scotty’s Little Soldiers, the Horsefair Shopping Centre in Wisbech will be staging a sale on Monday, May 26, in aid of Wisbech Lions Club.

Centre manager at the Horsefair, Kevin Smith, said: “Easter was a very busy time at the Horsefair, particularly at the car boot sale. We were so pleased with how much money we raised so hopefully this bank holiday event will do the same.

“It’s perfect timing for anyone who might have recently had a spring clean. Its gives them the chance to find a new home for items they’d forgotten they had in cupboards around the house.

“We hold two charity car boot sales a year so this is people’s last chance to take part to make some extra money or pick up a bargain.”

The car boot sale takes place from 8am-1pm. A pitch costs £5 per car, £10 with a trailer, and is free to enter for shoppers.

To reserve a pitch call 01945 584109 or visit the kiosk at the bus station. For more information go to www.horsefairshoppingcentre.co.uk.
