WISBECH businesswoman Bev Patel owns the Suffolk shop which sold the winning 148 million EuroMillions ticket and said she is delighted for the couple who won.

Bev, who also owns the Ladybirds Day Nursery in Wisbech with her husband Sanjay, sold the ticket to Adrian and Gillian Bayford at their Premier Store shop in Queen Street, Haverhill before last Friday’s draw.

Having heard a couple from the Suffolk town had won the jackpot, the couple were kept in suspense about where the winning ticket had been bought from during the weekend - until Camelot phoned this week to invite to take part in photocalls with the lucky couple.

“We always thought the chances of it coming from our shop were high because we sell so many Lottery tickets,” she said.

“It is brilliant and I am so pleased for the family.”
