A WOMAN and her child had a lucky escape after their car left a Fenland road and entered a water-filled ditch.
The Vauxhall Astra left Whittlesey Road, March, yesterday at about 5.25pm and ended partially submerged in the ditch.
The woman and child were out of the car by the time emergency crews arrived. They were both uninjured.
Motorists were diverted for several miles while the vehicle was recovered. The road was reopened at 7pm.
