AN 82 year-old pedestrian has been seriously hurt after being struck by a car in Wisbech Market Place.
Police today launched an appeal to trace the driver who stayed until an ambulance arrived but then left without leaving contact details.
CCTV images are being trawled to find the driver of what police believe to have been a silver Volvo.
The woman pedestrian was taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital following the collision with a slow moving car outside Loafers Coffee Shop at around 11.20am yesterday.
PC Kurt Allen said: “I would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident which happened in a busy area of the town.
“I would also appeal to the driver of the car involved to contact police. The car is described as a silver Volvo saloon with a ‘Y’ prefix to the number plate.”
