A WOMAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries after her car left a Cambridgeshire road and entered a ditch following a two-vehicle collision.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to rescue the trapped woman, who sustained serious but not life threatening injuries in the smash at just after 7.30am today on the A141 at Warboys.

The road was closed between Heath Road, Warboys, and Chatteris for nearly two hours to help recovery. It was reopened by the Highways Agency at 9.20am.
