A robber who assaulted an elderly man on a mobility scooter and stole his wallet has been jailed for two years.
Emma Holman, 33, of Palmerston Road in Peterborough, approached the man in Fletton High Street at about 5.30pm on August 24 last year and assaulted him before stealing £200 in cash.
The victim, who is in his 80s, was on his way home having withdrawn the money from a nearby cash machine. He was left with minor injuries as a result of the incident.
Holman pleaded guilty to robbery at a previous hearing and was today (Thursday January 28) sentenced to two years in prison at Peterborough Crown Court.
Detective Constable Kevin Poole said: “This was a particularly cowardly attack on an elderly man who had no means to defend himself and was left traumatised by the incident.
“The sentence handed out today reflects the serious nature of the attack.”
