CO-PRESIDENT Rosemary Bowman welcomed members and two visitors to Tower Hall for the monthly meeting. Secretary Joan Denehy, treasurer Patricia Mann and outings Secretary Hazel Heeley dealt with the business. Joyce King brought a spring flower arrangement

CO-PRESIDENT Rosemary Bowman welcomed members and two visitors to Tower Hall for the monthly meeting. Secretary Joan Denehy, treasurer Patricia Mann and outings Secretary Hazel Heeley dealt with the business. Joyce King brought a spring flower arrangement for the officers' table. Delia Sewell was presented with a birthday card and gift. Nell Gardner was in charge of the raffle. refreshments were provided and served by Helen Chapman and Penny Ezra assisted by kitchen manager Delia Sewell. Speaker Jim Osborn gave an illustrated talk on chrysanthemums. Members voted in favour of this year's public affairs resolution asking the Government to stop closure of community hospitals. Joan Arnold organised the monthly competition for items beginning with the letter P. It was judged by the speaker and full marks were awarded to Joyce King for a Scottish pipe and Joan Denehy for a pink flower.
