AT the June meeting members watched a floral demonstration in which flowers and greenery added to an old broomstick residing in a flowerpot became an attractive tree. They were also treated to a session of tasting three flavours of Kenco coffee. There was a report on the proceedings at the recent National WI conference in the Royal Albert Hall and were given news of a special dinner in October to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the WI branch in Chatteris, also of a proposed outing to visit Hinchingbrooke House in August.

The floral tree plus another floral item were won in the draw by D Northcott and F Smith, other winners being D Davies, S Kightly and J Lee.
