THERE was no speaker at the February WI meeting so members spoke about themselves. They spoke about their families and where they live, their employment past and present. After the business meeting all members were given knitting needles and wool and asked to make hats for a smoothie. These items were then judged and Hilda Davis was the winner. Jessie Morton, a member since 1946 and who will be 95 this month, was made an honorary member. Results of the monthly competition for a craft item were: Five points, Gill Fox, Kate Phillips; four, Gwen Jones, Daphne Maddox, Jessie Morton, Joan Thompson and Sue Selby. These items are to be given to Quidenham Hospice to sell on a stall and arrangements were made to visit the hospice. Social time was arranged by Gill Fox who had put small objects in little bags, which had to be guessed either by touch or smell. At next month's meeting, on March 6, the speaker will be Gilly Canny on poetry. The competition will be for a six-line verse about gardens.
