ANNE Chambers presided over the February meeting at which there was a letter of thanks from Evelyn Hamps for the donation to Methodist Chapel funds and invitations from Friday Bridge WI to a quiz night and from Wimblington WI to a fashion show. Past president Joan Tennant also sent New Year greetings.

Anne Tanner was thanked for running the trading stall for the past few years, Margaret Patterson has agreed to take it on. Members were asked to take home unsold items after the meeting. The outing to Welney Wash had been a success even though members could not get to the Lamb and Flag because of the flooded road. It is hoped to arrange a meal there in the summer. There was also discussions on a possible outing to Thursford Show before Christmas.

Speaker Sandy Finn told members about the history of the Celts and how they spread the message of Christianity. Refreshments were served by Jenny Mair and Iris Miller.

Marks in the competition for something Celtic were: 19, Margaret Patterson; 18, Gill Jolley, Elizabeth Shepherd; 17, Dorothy Yarker, Iris Mill, Margaret Lewis; 16, Jenny Mair, Jenny Rust, Carol Turner. Next month's competition will be for a homemade pinafore. Points will count towards the Ellington Cup.
