FIVE retiring London Brick Company workers who between them had given more than 168 years' service to the firm all received cheques at a special presentation in 1967.
The men, all employed at the King's Dyke works, were James Treadwell, Amos Rippin, William Tinkler, W Fordham and A Stacey.
The presentations were made by Mr V Hackney, district works manager. Also there were Mr R V Garratt, manager of the Whittlesey area, and Mr F Moore, a retired manager.
Mr Tinkler, 70, started as a press boy and had spent his last 36 years as a pan feeder. The cheques were subscribed to by colleagues at the King's Dyke works.
