A WOMAN is waiting to find out whether a gigantic cucumber that she’s grown is big enough to force it’s way into the record books.
Clare Pearce, 78, from Whittlesey, needs Guinness World Record officials to verify whether her 43-inch whopper, which is still growing, has become the world’s longest cucumber.
The previous record of 41.25 inches was set two years ago by Frank Dimmock from Thame, Oxfordshire.
Mrs Pearce was stunned by the growth of the cucumber, which she planted in May, because the seeds had ran out of date in 2008.
