CROMWELL Community College recently hosted its annual x-country festival.

The event was attended by Manea, Glebelands, Benwick and Kingsfield primary schools, the weather was freezing but the sun shone for the first time in weeks!

We opened the festival with the partnership Olympic dance which was led by two of CCC’s Young Ambassadors (Fay Mackenzie and Keri Hill) with all the children joining in.

The competition was divided into two races, boys and girls racing over a mile course, competing in teams of eight with the first six scores counting. CCC Young Leaders were on hand to encourage; thanks to Cameron Hall, James Surtees and Kristian Brown for running the course twice with the juniors to help any children who were struggling. Holly Prime and Jessica Laws did sterling work on the timing and finish funnel.

The results were as follows: Overall Winners Glebelands; Runners Up Manea; Winning Boys Team Glebelands; RU Boys Team Manea; Winning Girls Team Glebelands RU Girls Team Draw between Manea and Kingsfield.
