A SPECIAL awards evening was held at King Edward Centre, Chatteris, to celebrate the achievements of young people in March, Chatteris and the local villages.

The young people had participated in a number of youth work projects throughout the year and were congratulated for their participation, effort and achievements.

Councillor Florence Newell presented the certificates to 31 young people, many of whom were supported on the evening by parents and friends. Youth workers and staff from agencies who have been involved in the many different projects and groups that have taken place this year were also in attendance.

Certificates were awarded for participation and teamwork in the following projects: Chatteris Youth Council, March Gardening Project, Manea Girls Group and Manea Youth Committee. A number of individuals also received certificates for volunteering.
