A 21 year old Wisbech woman is in a critical condition in hospital after her car left the road and became submerged in a water filled ditch.
The women was driving at Ravens Bank, Holbeach St Johns, at about 6.45pm on Sunday December 27 when her Renault Clio left the road and became submerged upside down in a water-filled dyke.
Police and members of the public entered the water to attempt to save the driver.
A police spokesman said: “The woman from the Wisbech area was rescued from the vehicle and she remains in a very critical condition in hospital.
“No other people or vehicles were involved.”
