A GROUP of young people have been handed Cambridgeshire Youth Awards for their tireless work at a Fenland summer holiday club.

The volunteers all completed more than 30 hours work at Chatteris Summer Holiday Club supported by the Millenium Youth Worker Trust and the parish church.

The youngsters led small groups of children aged between five and 12 in a variety of activities including games, crafts, cooking, singing, dancing and drama.

They mentored and supported groups of up to 10 children.

Vicki Wright, a youth worker from March and Chatteris Locality Team, said: “All of the young people worked really hard and deserve to be praised for their efforts.”
