YOUNG lads over the age of 12 were encouraged to join the 3rd Wisbech Company of the Boys' Brigade attached to Hill Street Baptist Church back in 1955.
The company was being re-formed after two years' inactivity.
The first meeting of a six-week recruiting programme was held in the Hill Street Assembly Hall.
