Wisbech Grammar School's first XV have made a sensational start to their rugby season, and beaten one of their bogey teams along the way.
The new season got off to a flyer last week when the school demolished a team from Hills Road Sixth Form College 72-3.
The forwards dominated play and supplied ball for the backs to run riot at every opportunity. The try count was led by Michael Gillick, who scored a hat-trick, while Tom Jones ran in another two.
But the pick of the early season results was the 20-3 home win over Gresham's School on Saturday.
Facing a team they had never beaten, Wisbech put in a terrific team performance in which every player gave 100 per cent.
David Milne opened the scoring with a touchdown after chasing down a kick and Charlie Roberts converted.
Gresham's hit back with a penalty but the home side scored their second try just before the break. Wisbech stole a scrum against the head and fine passing resulted in Tom Jones crashing over the line. The home side continued their hard work in the second half and scored a third try when Ben Miller pounced on a turn-over and sprinted away to score.
Gresham's tried to respond but Wisbech Grammar School ended the game in style when Charlie Roberts converted a penalty inside the visitors' 22.
