March suffered an agonising Fenland derby defeat last Saturday when pipped by one wicket by local rivals Wisbech.
Tyler Phillips’ men were skittled for just 112 before bowling their way back into contention for an unlikely success at The Avenue. They were eventually beaten by a single from last Wisbech man Kieran Haynes.
March had no answer to the pace of Wisbech youngster Will Gowler (4-31) and spin of Chris Clark (5-25). Ben Chapman (19) and Callum Young (18no) provided limited resistance.
Saranga Rajaguru (3-27) and Andrew Wright (3-41) impressed with the ball for March before Wisbech eventually scrambled over the line in a dramatic finish. March have another home clash tomorrow when Sawston & Babraham visit The Avenue, 12.30pm.
